MY SONG OF THE YEAR GRAMMY PREDICTION: WILL "FORMATION" SAY GOODBYE TO "HELLO"

SONG OF THE YEAR
HELLO (ADELE)
FORMATION (BEYONCE)
7 YEARS (LUKAS GRAHAM)
LOVE YOURSELF (JUSTIN BIEBER)
TOOK A PILL IN IBIZA (MIKE POSNER)

There are three songs that are up for both Song of the Year (a songwriting award that goes only to the songwriter(s)) and Record of the Year (a production award that goes to the artist(s), producer(s) and engineer(s)): Hello (Adele), Formation (BeyoncĂ©) and 7 Years (Lukas Graham). So, these are the ones to look at as true potential winners in this category. Last year, “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran won “Song of the Year” and it was up for both awards.

So, a betting person would bet on one of these three.  Adele’s “Hello” has SONG OF THE YEAR WINNER WRITTEN ALL OVER ITS BIG BAD BALLAD FACE! Not to mention, when “Hello” was released it broke every streaming, download, sales, YouTube record that had been on any book, anywhere. “Formation” is a close second and “Love Yourself” and “7 Years” are tied for third.  (Point of information, Bieber’s “Love Yourself” was co-written by Ed Sheeran…).

Not to mention, Beyonce just got slapped with a $20 million lawsuit over a sample that she used on this single. Ouch!  Regardless, most likely “Hello” is going to be saying goodbye to the competition.

Should win:     Hello!
Will win:          Hello!

Upset:              Hello!
