KENNETH COLE'S NEW FALL AD CAMPAIGN IS POWERFUL AND IMPORTANT
If you are familiar with the uber fashion and shoe brand Kenneth Cole, you know how committed the brand is to freedom of expression, artistic freedom, human rights, among other human-centric political and cultural issues. The brand's new fall campaign is brilliant, beautiful, powerful and probably one of the most relevant and timely statements any brand has made about pop culture and the state of the world today.
The campaign is called "The Courageous Class" and features a model turned activist, a pro surfer turned activist, a deaf pro soccer player, a transwoman model, a humanitarian hip-hop producer. "The Models are the Role Models," one of them says and the one minute video focuses on what each is passionate about and how we all can help make change. The most powerful statement comes from the model turned activist who says, "I can effect change...because I am...because I exist" and I think most of us feel like "what can little ol' me do?"
We, as individuals, can make positive changes by the smallest actions...however, we as a community can make even greater changes. Start reconnecting human-to-human again. Put down your mobile phones and your tablets. Hold someone's hand. Call someone. Send a card. Go to lunch and leave your mobiles in the car...
Be the courageous class.
