WANNA KNOW HOW BIG "JURASSIC WORLD" IS? ASK PIXAR WHOSE ALMOST 20-YEAR RUN OF #1 DEBUTS WAS SQUASHED LIKE A FOSSIL

It's the 2nd weekend for "Jurassic World" to make more than $100 million...oh, by the way, last weekend it opened to a record-smashing $208.8 million JUST IN THE U.S.  So add the $102 million it raked in this past weekend and in two weeks -- just in the US -- it's made more than $310 million (in 2 weeks...just in the States).

Pixar's critically acclaimed "Inside Out" debuted to $91 million which made its own history -- the biggest opening weekend for an original property (not a sequel and not created from a book, another movie, a short story, etc.).  That sounds amazing and the voices inside our heads should be singing loudly...except at Pixar.

Starting in 1995 with Toy Story, every movie that Pixar has released debuted at #1. Until this weekend. Yes, those crotchity dinos were too much for the little voices so Pixars almost 20 year streak was stopped dead in its really big tracks.  (BTW, it also was the 2nd biggest opening ever for Pixar just behind Toy Story 3...does that help the situation or make it more carnivorous?)

"Inside Out" has a consumer rating of "A" and great reviews so don't feel too sorry for the Pixar gang...they're gonna forget all about this when the year-end books are all said and done!  ("Jurassic World" is already at almost $1 billion worldwide, btw)
