Am Attending TEDxUSC on Friday and I can't wait!
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design -- three broad subject areas that are, collectively, shaping our future. And in fact, the event is broader still, showcasing ideas that matter in any discipline. The format is fast paced: 50+ talks over the course of four days (to say nothing of the morning and evening events). This immersive environment allows attendees and speakers from vastly different fields to cross-fertilize and draw inspiration from unlikely places. This is the magic of TED. There are "regional" TED Conferences now and USC has hosted TEDxUSC for three years now. Attendees have to apply for attendance consideration or they are handpicked. I am so grateful to have been asked to attend. I must have done something so right in an earlier life!! But i am thrilled and i'll keep you posted on how things are going!
Friday's event is from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. and is structured:
Session one is about discovering things in the most unlikely of places and finding meaning in our lives through play, compassion, and design.
Session two will take you on a journey deep into the mind and challenge you to think differently about how we think, invent, and create.
Session three is about the unexpected and unintended and how that can change our lives and the world.
