Jazz. Streisand. Discuss...

Barbra Streisand, also known as Ms. Streisand, first appeared at the Village Vanguard 48 years ago and will be celebrating the release of her 5,823rd album "Love Is The Answer" (a collection of jazz and classic standards -- produced by the queen of jazzy pop Diana Krall, btw) by returning to the intimate jazz club on Sunday, September 26. La Streisand, also known as "Perfectly Manicured" or "Donna Karen-Ensconced" Streisand, who rarely performs concerts despite the fact that she's released 983 "concert" DVDs, last performed at the club in 1961 as the opening act for none other than Miles Davis (also known as Miles Davis). The show will be free, with the few tickets given away to fans who either purchase the CD in advance or fill out an entry form. Details about the concert and tickets are available at barbrastreisand.com. Streisand's last U.S. tour, in 2006, grossed more than $92 million, according to Billboard Boxscore, setting house gross records in 14 of the 16 arenas it played -- although Madonna still is the top grossing concert tour by a female. Streisand was last seen with Madonna when Babs surprised Madonna and Roseanne during their Coffee Talk skit on SNL about 27 years ago -- it was hilarious...and Madonna even laughed a genuine laugh. I'm ferklempt.
